National AZ Scholars honored at NALC
Fahran Robb, Kristina Grebner, Abigail Radcliff, April Madison, Maggie Hoenig and Lena Smith were named the 2006 National Alpha Zeta Scholars during the awards banquet Saturday, March 18. [ More ] North Carolina sweeps chapter awards (almost)
The 15 members of the North Carolina Chapter in attendance took home many of national honors including a national scholarship, Officer of the Year, AgCareers.com Travel Award and the Founders' Cup. Congrats to the North Carolina Chapter!
Florida wins banner contest
Thanks to a stirring speech about the chapter's banner by NALC veteran Mark Marcojos, Florida thwarted an all-out North Carolina sweep of chapter awards. Florida's winning banner, chosen by the attendees, incorporated the theme of the conference -- Watering the Seeds -- and the pillars of Alpha Zeta: Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Fellowship. Go Gators!

Gateway to Agriculture
The National Agricultural Leadership Conference and 50th Biennial Conclave will be held in St. Louis March 29-31, 2007. Planning is already underway for AgTours, workshops, speakers and activities. St. Louis is a hub of agri-industry, production, research, biotechnology and innovation. Start making plans to attend now. Possible chapter development pre-conference
Officer training, recruitment, retention and building a stronger chapter would be on the agenda. The program would start Wed. night, (a day before the NALC and Conclave starts) March 28, 2007, and run through Thursday afternoon. I'm interested in your thoughts: What should be covered? Conclave business
The Conclave, Alpha Zeta's biennial business meeting, will be facing several issues when it meets March 29-31, 2007. Initiation of freshmen, ritual revisions, High Council term limits and election of new officers will be on the agenda. If your chapter has an issue it would like to discuss, please contact High Chancellor Paul Ruszkiewicz: paulruszk@msn.com.
