Dear Brian,
Alpha Zeta will be at FFA in Indy. Associate
Director Brian Reuwee will be manning the AZ booth
(1420)
at the Career Expo Oct. 25-27. If you're at the
convention, please stop by and say hello, you're
likely to learn something about Alpha Zeta or the
NALC and Conclave and get some ideas for your chapter.

More than a year after hurricanes Katrina and Rita,
there's still work to be done, and Alpha Zeta is
doing its part. About 30 Alpha Zeta members will
travel to south central Louisiana to help the
community of Vermillian Parish.

| NALC fundraising ideas |
 |
|
The NALC and Conclave is an important business
meeting. It's also a fun place to meet other AZs.
But coming up
with the travel money can be problematic. Now is the
time to start planning. Here are some ideas:
- Ask your advisor, dean and/or ag student council
about funding for NALC. Most colleges will provide
some funding for professional conferences.
- Airfare giving your chapter second thoughts? Ask
an alumni or parent to donate frequent flyer miles!
- Inquire with the athletic department if there
are opportunities for student groups to run
concession stands. It's a lot of work, but can be
very lucrative ($1,000+ for a 3-day weekend).

Aggies needed to speak out, says Amanda Rankin, a
member of the California Delta Chapter at Cal Poly.
Howard Lyman, former Montana rancher, is promoting a
vegan lifestyle during a lecture Sunday, Oct. 15, at
Cal Poly. Lyman was involved with the "Beef Free
'93" campaign and appeared on Oprah in 1996 stating
that BSE (Mad Cow Disease) would make AIDS "look
like the common
cold."

people saying the embedded video wasn't displaying,
I figured I better put in a link:
