Chapter Development Pre-ConferenceSeven Habits of Highly Effective Chapters
Part II - Set goals and objectives

Create a mission and vision statement for your chapter. It should be simple and direct, yet aspirational. Then set some realistic goals based on that mission and vision. Focus your everything your chapter does around your chapter mission and goals: service projects, meetings, recruiting, etc. Finally, evaluate your progress at the end of the semester. What went well? What didn't you accomplish and why?

Cemetery clean-up a regular service project for chapter

As an annual spring service project we go to the Historic Oakwood Cemetery and Mausoleum in downtown Raleigh, NC to help clean headstones and tend to the grounds surrounding the Confederate section of the cemetery.

This year we cleaned the headstones of many confederate soldiers and picked up twigs and limbs that had been knocked down during a recent wind storm. We spent about four hours volunteering our time.

Florida Chapter surprises seniors with serenade
Phi Mu Alpha sings for Florida women

I requested the gentlemen of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia to serenade the graduating senior ladies of Alpha Zeta. I could not think of a better way to show my appreciation for all your hard work and the memories.

The senior ladies were asked to wear ribbons (sky blue with mode trim) for the soloists to know who to hand the pink carnations...check out the video.
