Townshend attracts new prospects
Lure of sugary treats gets new members to table

We invited prospective members to come learn about what our chapter does and how they would benefit from membership. The informal setting allowed us to answer any questions and address concerns about joining.

Our recruitment committee did a wonderful job of letting potential members know about the informational meetings and we enticed them with sugar -- ice cream and pop. As a result, there are 29 new applicants to the Townshend Chapter!

Conclave 2005
Bylaw amendments proposed at the Conclave could make second semester Freshmen eligible for membership. Other proposed changes define transfer student eligibility, install term limits for the High Council and limit chapter representation on the board.

Christmas tree fundraiser
North Carolina sells trees to help with chapter costs

North Carolina Christmas tree fundraiser
The Christmas Tree Sale is the biggest fundraiser of the year. We pre-sell trees to the community through e-mail, flyers and personal sales to faculty and staff.

Through the Christmas tree sale we spread the word of the importance of agriculture in North Carolina.

The trees and wreaths were obtained from an alumnus' tree farm. Brothers pick up the orders, and we distributed the trees and wreaths from campus the next day.

This year the fundraiser was more successful than it has been in the past few years, and we raised about $1,450 dollars to help pay for NALC and Agriculture Awareness Week.

Chapter performs service to campus

Rutgers Gardens benefited from an Alpha Zeta  service project this fall. Almost 40 members and candidates pitched in to clean up, spread mulch and prepare the garden for winter.

The project helped potential and current members to get to know each other, plus it was a good way for the chapter to show how Alpha Zeta benefits the community and campus. More photos...
